I learned how to set things up from one of the best. As he once said, "In general, it helps to remember that I subscribe to Anton Chekov's First Rule of Playwriting: "If there's a gun on the wall in act one, scene one, you must fire the gun by act three, scene two. If you fire a gun in act three, scene two, you must see the gun on the wall in act one, scene one." "
I find things seem FAR less deux ex machina if the gun's already on the wall instead of bringing it out right when it's time to fire it...

Lothor, having survived the destruction of Mesogog's lab, travels back in time to ancient Japan (sixth century or so...) in a plot to become the ultimate dark ninja master by manipulating the path of ninjitsu in its early days.
Meanwhile, the Literati Ninja have traveled to New York where they end up teaming up with the Ninja Turtles to fight Dragonlord and his minions. The two groups are celebrating when they, and the Turtles' Master Splinter, are magically transported to the Wind Ninja Academy by Dulcea and Ninjor to find that they, along with Senseis Onimo and Watanabe, have also brought the Ninja Rangers to the Academy.
And so the Ninja Rangers, Turtles, Ninja Storm team and Literati Ninjas, along with five 'tagalong' students of the Wind Academy and the five mentors travel back in time after Lothor to stop him from changing time.
This actually fits TWO legends - Kiya Watanabe took the name 'Lothor' from an 'ancient warrior of evil', in this case himself; and in TMNT III, Norinaga talks of a legend of turtle-like demons who ended another ruler's reign, in this case Lothor.
...What scares me is that it all makes sense...

A Fanny thought:
Since I play Kayura and Kurama, and Dan plays Hiei, the thought is now lodged in my head: Kayura is the second child of Kurama and Hiei. Real name is Sorahime, sky-princess.
Any thoughts on this? I might use the name, if not Kayura herself, in Father's Love.

So she'd end up being an adopted member of Kaos/the Ancient's tribe, not a blood member?

The Season 4 "Hogan's Heroes" episode 'Up In Klink's Room' takes place in September of 1944.
(Major Zimmer mentions that Tirpitz must be sank before it could make a run from Trondheim Fjord (in Norway) to the open sea - Tirpitz was sank in Trondheim Fjord in September of '44. It could, however take place a year earlier when it was damaged by Allied Submarines that had made it into the Fjord. The Germans had written Tirpitz off as a fighting ship before the Sept. '44 sinking...)

Sounds like it'd work to me...
It's not so much writing fanfiction as it is writing a journal and throwing part of it away because he was writing what he was 'daydreaming' about and what he was thinking about actually scared him. It's implied but not EXACTLY stated that he listened to David and dated other girls, losing him Amanda and he's thinking about and writing down what would have happened if someone else had stopped him before he did... And what scares him is that it's showing him that he still has the potential to be a hero - something he's not sure he is and isn't comfortable thinking about.

What's worse is I actually feel bad for the guy.
...I just wish the Helen convo/proposal (Wow, you actually remembered my whole Helen of Troy thing?) was actually part of mine and Dan's storyline.

I was wondering when you'd comment on that. Yeah, I remembered - I even pulled out that packet of stuff you gave me a while back regarding PRL Amanda's wedding to make sure that I got the engagement ring (silver band, right index) correct. The hard part was, as Jon points out in the episode, keeping it simple instead of getting fancy when he was talking... well, that and getting on Wiki to find the Catholic wedding vows for his 'build-up' to the proposal. (Notice that in addition to the already-mentioned religions, I add Jon in as an Agnostic...)
Did I manage get your lines in-character? And what did you think of the change from humor/parody in the beginning to drama/romance/angst by the end?
