I've gotta go with you on this one. Starfire isn't human, she doesn't know human idioms, so naturally she'd break girlfriend down into 'girl' and 'friend'. Though I bet by the end of the episode she'll officially be his girlfriend.

I didn't like the movie "Steel".
(IMDb's review of it was by a jack-ass who watched it as a Superman fan and got his shorts in a twist because it didn't even reference Superman beyond Irons' tattoo and the "Man of Steel" remark. I, however, watched it as a comics fan, but not a Superman fan, and loved it.)
