A: Sure, why not? I'll try my hand at making one, but... I can't promise anything.
Q: What's the rule of thumb for deciding if a meal is "dinner" or "supper"?

A: I think it's one of those regional things. Like...
Q: D'you say 'soda' or 'pop'?

A: I can't say for the rest of the Midwestern region, but in Chicago we order "pop."
Q: Do Chicagoans have a dialect?

(Gibb)A: Soda. Or, more often, just coke. Pop is regarded rather oddly around here.
'Course, we also say "li-bary" and "warsh", so I won't even go into the "Currul Count-ee" (Carroll County) accent... (More like improper enunciation...)
(Oniisan)A: Heck yes.
Q: Isabell: Will she still soak us, or is there nothing to worry about?

A: You will get wet. In fact, I sincerely doubt that you won't get at least a really bad T-storm.
Q: Considering tht Chicago is several hundred miles away from the Yellowstone caldera, an active volcano that erupts once every 600,000 years, releasing a large cloud of ash that can cover the sky over Chicago for years, sending the Midwestern region into a mini-Ice-Age, and is currently 40,000 years overdue for an eruption; should I worry?
(And Gibb thinks he has a lot of trivia in his head...)

A: I'd be more worried about the New Madrid Fault Line. Last time it went (1811) the resulting earthquake is estimated to have been at least a nine on the Richter Scale. Whole towns collapsed into the ground and the Miss flowed backwards for a time. (I can beat anyone on disasters, Iggy. Natural or otherwise. ) Star: We say 'warsh' here in Pittsburgh too. Q: Has anyone besides myself been in an earthquake before?

A: I was told that when I was two, there was a small aftershock that shook the posters off the walls of my grandmother's house, and woke me from a nap. That's as close as I've ever gotten (Or ever will get, if I can do anything about it.) to an earthquake.
Q: Battle of the Elves: Deedlit, Legolas, or Link?

A: I'm gonna go with the only one I regognize. Link.
Q: If you could clone yourself, would you?

A: No.
Q: Do you think I should bother to go through the trouble to re-start the inactive animé club at my college? Is it really worth it? And isn't .hack//SIGN a great show?

A1: I'd think so, yeah. Couldn't hurt to try. A2: I never really got into it. RPGs aren't my style.
Q: How much rain did you get?
|
|
|
Post by luminous on Sept 20, 2003 8:29:14 GMT -5
A. Hah. Only about 2 inches.
And .hack//SIGN isn't the game, it's one of the many animé shows. And it IS good. ;D
Q: What program do you use to play your music (as in, .wav, .MIDI, .Mp3, etc.)?

A: Winamp. I've tried a few others (Windows Media Player, etc.) but I hate the way they organized my library (By artist, by album, by type(?) , but only Winamp does it by directory)
Here endeth the commercial for Winamp. (And I did know the many guises of .Hack, I was refering to the idea behind the show)
Q: Which word processor program do you use? (Personally, I use Sun's StarOffice, 'cause it was bundled with the 'puter (and it was cheaper than Windows Office))

A: MS Word XP... I feel like such a sell-out, but I got the Office XP bundle with an academic discount, and it was better than MS Works (what an oxymoron, there...). Notepad I use for HTML, and Wordpad... I avoid at all costs. Oh, and on my laptop I use WordPerfect 10.
I use Winamp myself, although I won't take the plunge and upgrade to Winamp 3... I'm still on Winamp 2.8.1 (or whatever version it is...). I like it the best, and I still occasionally make my own skins for it... Animé, of course. ;D
Q: Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams?
|
|
|
Post by JP Gibb on Sept 20, 2003 11:59:48 GMT -5
A: Adams. "Hitchhikers" is still one of my all time favorite series. (And I finally found an mp3 of the tv theme! ;D)
Q: Why do stupid fads never die?

Because there is always a few losers out there that think it's cool and they try to barely keep it alive.
Did anyone see the movie Underworld and was it any good?
