Power Rangers/Battlestar Galactica
(AU from 'Power Rangers in Space')

It's been ten years since The Loss, when Dark Spectre took over the galaxy, enslaving all the inhabited planets - Earth, Edenoi, Eltar, KO-35 Colony, Triforia and a thousand others. Ten years since our greatest hopes fell. Dark Spectre's first act was to slaughter every Power Ranger who had ever been and their entire families along with them. Only one survived, but he lost everything...
Everything but hope, and it's turned out that Zhane has enough of that to spare for everyone... and we need it. I still don't know how he did it, but he managed to track down survivors from Ranger families and as many free beings as he could and rescued them, rescued us...
'Home' is now Terra Venture, once a prototype colony ship being built on Earth, 'stolen' and refitted with Kovian drive systems, now the last bastion of freedom in the Galaxy... All of us here have sworn to bring an end to Dark Spectre's rule, but we can't do it alone. For now, we have to evade his forces and find allies on our way...

Calvin & Hobbes/Power Rangers
Alternate 'original' team... Replace Kim and Tommy with Suzie and Calvin and Bulk with Moe...
As Calvin grew older, he and Hobbes grew apart until as after the team's powers are destroyed they have to discover the Ninja Powers of the animal spirits inside them... and Calvin's animal spirit is somewhat annoyed at being forgotten about for the last ten or twelve years.
(That is, Hobbes was a psychosemantic repersentation of Calvin's inner Tiger animal spirit.)

The Mysteries, Inc. gang hears about the monster attacks in Angel Grove and heads to California to 'unmask the real culprits' behind the scheme that they're sure has to exist.
(Yeah, so far beyond crack that it's a complete acid trip.)

Tommy actually challenges Francis to a duel - If the Ranger wins, then Kimberly doesn't have to move; if the nation wins, then Tommy loses the girl...
Yeah, right, like I'd let Tommy lose this one, hm?
