AU. Set in the Sengoku Period. We're gonna have to go full Japanese names on this one, I don't think "Rowen" would go over too well in that time.

The Samurai Troopers are warrior-mages for a daiyamo. Out on patrol (Feel free to come up with something else), Touma and Seiji find a demon and bring it to before the daiyamo to be judged. The daiyamo sentences it to death. As the demon is being taken away, he casts a spell, aiming for Seiji, but Touma takes it in Seiji's stead.

Time passes. Enough time for them to have forgotten the demon. Touma and Seiji have begun a relationship in the meantime. Soon, Touma starts showing signs of an unknown illness that the medicne men cannot treat.

Suspecting the long-ago encounter with the demon, Ryo uses his power to determine if the cause is magickal. Seiji isn't doing it because his emotions interfere with the magick.

That's when the five of them find out: Touma is pregnant. Fearing the daiyamo's reaction, the five of them steal away in the night and become Ronin.

In any case, I have to admit that it's original. I'd like to know what kind of magick the Troopers would be using. Omiyoji (Yin-Yang) magick, or western-style? Because western-style wouldn't fit well with the setting. And what kind of demon could place such a curse on a person? You'd think the demon would do something worse to those who captured it.

You've got me intrigued. I want you to do it, just to see how you could pull it off.

And I would use the Japanese magick, of course. I wouldn't screw up that badly. Needs research, though.
