The year is 1777, and it is the darkest hour of the American Revolution. General Washington and his men are camped out at Valley Forge, recovering from their near-defeat, the will of the American soldiers is wavering, and the British victory looks more certain than ever...
But as in every dark hour, a ray of light shines. His name is Captain Steven Rogers, Continental Army, and he has been specially chosen by General Washington himself to turn the tide of the war.
His mission? To strike at the British by any means possible and necessary.
His weapon? An echo of a republic past.
His name?
Captain America.

Echo of a republic past is the shield, like that of the gladiators in the ROMAN Empire/Republic.
As for how he was made... The French and Indian War. (Watch "The Patriot" if you don't understand.)
