Twenty years ago, Genma Saotome saved himself from death by swearing to the oyabun of a Yakuza clan that, to repay his debts, his firstborn son would be given to the clan and married to the oyabun's daughter.
It's twenty years later, Genma's son is of marrying age, and the clan has sent someone to either collect the young martial artist named Ranma Saotome... or kill Genma Saotome. Unfortunately for Genma, when the girl Ranma is supposed to marry rejects the engagement, those options suddenly start dropping in number.
Fortunately for Ranma, however, his father's honorless ways may have put the part-time panda in danger of losing his own life, but the person sent to kill his father might just be the one to help Ranma take control of his life...
(I should note that, the clan I was actually thinking of when I came up with this idea is the Tatsushishi-gumi from Travelouge.)
