There are red and yellow rangers in the 'Spirit Sentai'.

(Truth: Ryu wears black, Nariko green, Botan pink, and Samuru blue, just like their counterparts - J.T., Jessica, Yolanda and Daniel. However, Kata wears purple to Amanda's yellow, while Justin wears red Seiko wears gold, and Yukio is a silver/grey instead of Jon's purple.)

If you recall, Dragonzord by itself was capable of defeating all of the other Dinozord combined as the Megazord. Recently, on EBay, I saw the 93 Special Edition Megazord (the Black and Gold one) and it gave me an idea for why the Power Rangers would be helping the Literati Rangers, that being that Rita and Zedd had created Dark Dinozords (that is, the SE Dinozords)...

Now, say that the Dark Megazord is so powerful that even the Literati Megazord (with the Scorpion Spiritzord added as a flight booster) can't beat it and Tommy comments on wishing they could use the Dragonzord.

"Well, we don't we?" J.T. asked.

"It's at the bottom of Angel Grove Bay."

"So? The Siren Spiritzord is designed to go underwater, and I'm sure I can convince Dragon to try if he has to."

Zack smiled to himself, the 'Immovable Object' that had led so many teams of Rangers was about to face the 'Unstoppable Force' of the newest team's leader when he had a idea...

The Black Power Ranger only wished he could sale tickets to all the other Rangers that had known Tommy.

"He's out of power and we don't have the Dagger, even if he wasn't."

"That's right, you don't, we do, and in case you forgot, we recharged your coins, what makes you think we can't recharge Dragonzord," J.T. said in a statement, not a question.

"How would we get there and back? Especially back with Dragonzord?"

"Dragon's not as fast as Drago, but he can still do Mach 13 point five at sea level - that's ten-thousand miles an hour, Doc, even saying he's carrying five thousand tons of metal lizard, he should still be able to do Mach 6, at least, that's across the country in an hour - without me trying to boost his energy levels with my own energy. Next argument for me to shoot down?"

Jason was starting to laugh, "Payback for all those times you couldn't agree with the rest of us, Bro."

"Shut up, Jason."

"You know, I never thought I'd see the day I'd enjoy watching J.T.'s dragon-headed stubborness at work."

"Shut up, Amanda."

"Man, this could go on forever."

"Shut up, Zack," two voices said at one time.

Hence why and how the Dragonzord is brought into play.


And I don't know how acurate my calculations are, but they should be close since Dragonzord's about the size of a Megazord and the Abareno (Thundersaurus Megazord) is 4800 tons, the Dragon Spiritzord is slightly larger than most Zords and Tyranno and TopGaler (Tyrannozord and Dragozord) are around 2800 and 2200 tons, respectively, so I put the Dragon at 3000 tons and Drago travels at Mach 20, Dragon is larger and slower, so he gets Mach 13.5 (10,000 MPH at sea-level) with his own weight and carrying twice that as cargo would drop him down by half.

I think later episodes will probably do just as well at that. After all, we've got a couple who spend a length of time mentally connected,

a multi-team plot to get the original 'Power Couple' back together (including a high school science teaching Black Ranger tied up in pink ribbon and left for a world-class gymnast as a 'gift' by his fellow Black Rangers),

a loss of powers,

a truely Dark Ranger (even TRENT was under outside influence, and the Thunder Rangers were lied to, Jon is the first bad Ranger not under mental control that knows exactly what he's doing!)

The first active team wedding (Joel and Angela in PRLR come close, Joel still had his powers, but Bansheera and her demons had been beaten when he and Angela were married)

The first Zord passed between teams (Dragonzord) and team up of teams with more than a year between their active time (Power Rangers and Literati Rangers)



Remember, we're not doing the Super Sentai/Post-99 PR thing of changing the series every year, so we have a long time to work with and show the Literati team growing and changing.

Let's see....

There's a scene where J.T. can't find the ladder to adjust the thermostat, so he climbs the shelves, falls, mutters "Does anybody know how to use the Force?"
Amanda comes over, "I'm going to kill you." and drags him off while he's singing "Show me the way to go home, I'm tired and I wanna go to bed, I fell down bout a minute ago and I think I broke my head..."

Then there's the infamous (and long awaited) scene with Amanda (Wiccan Clerk) and Overly-Religious Church-Bigot Lady.

J.T. and Amanda end up being the only ones available to battle the Puckmaster (hockey-based monster) and J.T. steps on a church.
"You stepped on a church."
"Oh, like I'm not already going to hell?"
"You probably knocked over the casket..."
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Nothing, just felt like saying it."

Let's see... Switch the Gum Rep's anti-smoking campaign with Amanda vs. OVCB Lady...Probably have to move Amanda/Randal's arrival up some...

John and Silent Will (heh) show up with assorted others for a D&D session.

J.T.: Sometimes, I really hate all the trouble that comes with working here...

Customer: HEY, It's not like it's a demanding job.I'd like to get paid to sit on my ass and watch TV. The other day I walked in here and the kid behind the counter was sleeping.

J.T.: I'm sure they weren't sleeping.

Customer: You calling me a liar?

J.T.: No; they was probably just resting their eyes. (Yes, because you are, arse.)

Customer: What the hell is that? Resting their eyes! It's not like you're the damn Power Rangers! THEY actually do something for this city.

J.T.: Actually, we are. This is just what we do when we're not saving the city.

Customer: Smart-ass, you'll never be anything but a clerk with that attitude. (Slams down his purchases on the counter.) I'm a member, number's sixteen-eighty-two, name's Schmidtburg, and make it quick!

(Customre makes purchase and walks out, leaving his card on the counter.)

J.T.: Not anymore, you're not, cochon. (Cuts up card and drops remains in the trash.

Of course, there's GOTTA be scenes with "Do you have anything new in?" and "Do you have that movie with that guy who was in that movie that came out last year?"...

"By the way, Jessica, you do anything that'll break his heart again and I'll have to kill you."

Jessica looked at Amanda for a moment, "You're being protective of him? Of the guy that owns more weapons than the Scenic City Police Department? Have I stepped into the Twilight Zone?"

"Territoriality. He was mine first."

Jessica stared again, then finally responded the way she thought J.T. would, "Aw, the big sister act is so CUTE, Amanda."

"I hate you both."

(I actually wrote these for an online game I'm currently playing using versions of the Literati Rangers and thought I should post them here)

PRL Bios:

J.T. is the The Black Literati Dragon Ranger and pilot of the Dragon Spiritzord. As leader of the Literati Rangers, the Dragon Ranger takes the protection of his teammates seriously, the protection of his love in Jessica, the team's Phoenix Ranger the most serious of all. In personality, Dragon Ranger is both aggressive and intelligent, able to adapt to new situations and take command easily. Dragon Ranger also carries the Dragon Dagger to control Dragonzord and is the preferred partner of Fire Dimetrodon.

Jessica is the Green Literati Phoenix Ranger and pilots the Phoenix Spiritzord. Phoenix Ranger only moved to Scenic City three years ago, but became close to J.T., the Dragon Ranger, almost immediately and he's the only one who knows her full past. Phoenix Ranger is more athletic than her partner, but not as strong. After a failed attack by Dreamweaver the two became mentally linked for a time, leaving a strong connection between them even after the bond was broken. If Phoenix Ranger is with him when Dragon Ranger powers up into Dragonfire Ranger, the remains of the bond cause part of his emotions and 'fire' to power her up into the Burning Ranger.

Unlike the other Literati Rangers, Jon, the Dark Ranger is not a hero, or a villian, he just is. Where some would call him self-serving and mercenary, his rivals in Dragon Ranger and Witch Ranger see him as simply someone who faced the darkness and was unable to keep from falling in. With his Scorpion Spiritzord, Dark Ranger is as powerful as either of the Spirit Megazord combinations, but unfortunatly, the triple-changing Spiritzord's power has been outmatched by the Dragon Spiritzord's a number of times, leaving the Spiritzords with a rivalry greater than that of their partners.

Amanda is the Yellow Literati Witch Ranger and pilots the Witch Spiritzord and Stag Ninja-Spiritzord. Witch Ranger has been Dragon Ranger's friendly rival for as long as they've known each other, a rivalry that neither of their relationships, Dragon's with Phoenix Ranger and Witch Ranger's with Daniel, the Demon Ranger, have defused. While Dragon Ranger and others are actually more powerful, Witch Ranger's power is more variable since she has the ability to use different kinds of magic both in and out of morph.

Daniel is the Blue Literati Demon Ranger and of the more visible Literati Rangers is perhaps the most level-headed of the original team. Engaged to Amanda, the Witch Ranger, that level-headedness goes out the window when she's in danger, leading Demon Ranger to throw himself head-first into situations. Perhaps the most stand-out moment of Demon Ranger's time as a Literati Ranger was when he and the Blue Turbo and Dino Rangers, Justin and Ethan, gathered a team of Blue Rangers and launched into space to prevent space pirate Divatox from regaining her Spacebase, a mission which lead to the first connections developing between the Literati Rangers and the various other Ranger teams that existed. (One of these connections, that with the Dino Rangers, would lead to the Dragon and Witch Rangers 'Dinozord-Sitting' for a time and the discovery of Fire Dimetrodon.)

The Pink Literati Siren Ranger, Yolanda, never seems to be anything but happy and go-lucky... few realize that underneath that childish exterior lurks a fighter as fierce as any of the other Literati Rangers, with her Siren Daggers or piloting the Siren Spiritzord or Dolphin Ninja-Spiritzord, Siren Ranger's defeated her share of Marius' and Malleus Maleficarum's creations. Though Siren Ranger sticks mostly to the background compared to her teammates, she stands out in the eyes of Billy, the Blue Power Ranger.

Justin is the Red Literati Knight Ranger, although those that know him never confuse him with a fellow Justin, the Blue Turbo Ranger. Before the Literati Rangers gained their Spirit Armors, Knight Ranger's Knight Sword was destroyed by Dark Ranger, but was soon replaced by the sword Ragnarok. Knight Ranger doesn't take the front lines that often, preferring to watch his teammates backs either wielding Ragnarok or piloting the Knight Spiritzord.

Once the Black Power Ranger, Zack fought with his original team alongside the Literati Rangers against the Dark Megazord using a recharged Mastrodon Coin before returning to his retirement. It was during a difficult battle that he used the Mastrodon Coin to again fight alongside the Literati Rangers, leading it to be stolen by Marius and Zack to be angry at his inability to help. The Sword of Power, stored by Zordon years before in what would become the Literati Rangers' Command Center, reacted by drawing some of the energy from the other seven Literati Rangers and passing it to Zack. As all colors together form white light, so did the black, green, pink, yellow, blue, red and purple energies come together to give Zack the ability to become the White Literati Dino Ranger. When Dino Ranger summons his Spiritzord, what actually happens is that his Mastrodon Zord (formerly the Dark Mastrodon before freed from Rita and Zedd's control) is transformed by his Dino Spirit into the Mammoth Spiritzord. Over the years, Zack has matured into a confident and intelligent advisor to the Literati Rangers both on the field as the Dino Ranger and off as their boss at his store known as Highway 2. The years, however, have not dimmed his enjoyment of life.

The final missing Dinozord, Fire Dimetrodon is found by the Literati Rangers when Dragon and Witch are caring for the other baby Dinozords for the Dino Rangers. Joins the Literati Rangers out of a feeling of seperation from the other Dinozords by not having been there during the battle with Mesogog. With the Dragon and Phoenix Spiritzords forms the Fire and Superfire Battlezords.

For years after the Dragon Power Coin was drained of energy by Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, the mighty Dragonzord lay dorment in Angel Grove Bay, forgotten by all...

Until Rita and Zedd recovered from the wave of good unleashed by the death of Zordon and created the Dark Dinozords, evil doubles of the five Dinozords used by the Power Rangers. To face them, the Literati Rangers were joined by the Power Rangers, using their connections to the Power Grid to repair the destroyed coins of Tommy, Kimberly and Billy, but even with Dark Ranger on their side, the combined Rangers teams and the Literati Spiritzords proved no match to the Dark Megazord until the Power Rangers reminisced about the ability of Dragonzord to battle the original Megazord and defeat it. It was J.T., the Literati Dragon Ranger, and Tommy, the original partner of Dragonzord who retrieved the Dragon Dagger from the 'trophy room' of the Literati Command Center and, with the Dragon Spiritzord, traveled across the country to revive the mightiest Dinozord.

At Angel Grove Bay, J.T. played the Dragon Dagger and let the energies from the Power Grid and his own Dragon Spirit flow freely to Dragonzord, revitalizing the ancient powerhouse. As it had when under the control of Tommy during his time as the evil Green Ranger, Dragonzord faced and with the aid of the Spiritzords and Fire Dimetrodon defeated the Dark Dinozords, allowing the Power Rangers to take control of them and turn them to the side of good. After the battle, Dragonzord remained with J.T., who now wielded the Dragon Dagger in addition to his own Dragon Sword, and became an invaluable part of the Literati Ranger team.

"Road Rage" - Amanda must pass her driver's exam in time to help the other Rangers defeat the Hellride monster that's been causing a rash of hit & runs in Scenic City.

"You probably think I was dumb and a bitch for writing that letter, don't you?"

Amanda sighed and leaned on the railing, "All I can say is this; we've all done stupid things. I once had a crush on a guy for no other reason than because he was popular. He didn't make me feel like the girl whose parents didn't care about her, I felt like I could actually be somebody. Then I found out he was dating three different girls at once, not counting the fact that we had just gone out on our first, last and ONLY date, so you can imagine how I felt..."

She nodded back into Zack's house at where J.T. had somehow managed to lock himself around Tommy's leg like a four-year-old and was calling him 'Grandpa', a sight that was amusing Jessica, Zack, Jason and Trini to no end.

"He once dated a girl who really IS a bitch, she wanted him to be everything he's not. I might spend half my time trying to kill the bastard, but I prefer him like he is - if only for the fact that he gives my parents nightmares... Jessica and Yolanda aren't really that different, neither is Daniel... and you know about Z.. er, Zack and that one girl, Angela. You know why we all got into those situations?"

"Zordon couldn't find something better than a trash-can to put Rita in?"

"That too. No, Kimberly, same reason you wrote that letter - because at the time... we all thought it was the right thing to do and none of us knew at the time how wrong we were. Now you've got to make a choice - you're safe, you have a nice well-paying career and a home and you're miserable. If you try and take a chance, nothing could chance in which case you'd be right where you are right now, or you could lose all of that and gain something better. So you've got to decide, safe or happy?"

"I... I don't know anymore, I mean, how can I even think about it after what I did..."

Amanda groaned, talking wasn't working, it looked like they might have to do things J.T.'s way after all...

(Robotic Enforcement Device)

After R.I.C.'s destruction at the hands of the Troobians, a request was put in for a new model Robotic Interactive Canine for Earth's S.P.D. base. Although the need was eliminated after Bridge and Boom managed to rebuild R.I.C., the request still went through and S.P.D. found themselves with an extra R.I.C. unit that was put into storage until a cross-temporal anomaly (another one...) brought one of the Literati Rangers from 2007 to 2027. Out of synch with his Dragon Spirit after being torn through time, J.T. found himself unable to morph and in the middle of a crisis when the very villian that had thrown him through time kidnapped the S.P.D. Power Rangers, leaving only Commander Kruger and Dr. Manx left. With his only hope of returning home resting on beating the villian and freeing the S.P.D. Rangers, J.T. began digging through the Delta Base's armories where he found the second R.I.C. unit, promptly naming it a Robotic Enforcement Device, or R.E.D. after it's coloring. Armed with R.E.D. and a modified spare Patrol Morpher, he joined Shadow and Kat Rangers, the returned Omega and Nova Rangers, and the new Gold Ranger in going after the other Rangers.

As he prepared to return home with the aid of Omega and Nova, along with Time Force's Chrono Ranger, J.T. attempted to return the Patrol Morpher and R.E.D., only to be stopped by Kruger, who informed him that the Literati Rangers and their relationship with the SCPD had been one of the driving forces behind S.P.D. itself and made him, and the other Literati Rangers in abstensia official S.P.D. officers. Before going, however, R.E.D. was equipped with a holo-field to disguise him as a normal dog if need be.

While used occasionally in Canine Cannon mode beforehand, after Zack joined the Literati Rangers as the White Ranger, R.E.D. found himself used more often to provide a second heavy weapon while the Mammoth Hammer replaced the Dragon Sword in the Spirit Shot.

"You aren't a conventional anthropologist," Justin noted, as he stared the stranded man in the face.

"Convention is the enemy of inspiration," the young man replied, returning the ranger's gaze while adjusting his glasses.

"Insanity doesn't hurt, either," quipped the slacker in the DUKW.

"We're here," the anthropologist continued, "because we believe we can find answers regarding the origin of a mythical source of pure energy in some ruins in the hills." He could see the others looking at each other anxiously. They clearly knew something.

"Some have called it the Great Leyline. Others say it is the Stream of Mana. I once overheard it being called the Power Grid." Daniel swallowed hard at that. J.T. clenched his fist, struggling to aviod booting these strangers out of the city.

Tyrone Anderson smirked. He was certain that had the information he sought. And he wasn't leaving until he knew what they did.

One major problem - The Literati Command Center is UNDERGROUND in a FOREST. The MORPHING Command Center was in the hills... AND a continent away.

I am ASHAMED of myself!

Here we are, over thirteen episodes old and we've YET to fulfill an ancient Power Rangers tradition...

And it's not like there's not one nearby, I know exactly where one is - right across from the Renfroe Cutoff...

I have GOT to get us in a fight taking place in a quarry....
