What if Anakin hadn't panicked during the attempted arrest of Darth Sidious? What if he had sided with the Jedi against the Dark Lord...
(Or for that matter, what if Windu hadn't insisted on killing Sidious?)
What if he had then stood against the Jedi Council to change the Order as a Jedi Knight instead of destroying the Order as a Sith Apprentice?
I'll freely admit, part of this idea comes from the following facts;
1. Because of certain aspects of his species, Jedi Master Ki-Adi-Mundi was granted liberty to marry.
2. Anakan Skywalker and Padme Amidala, along with Nejaa Halcyon and his wife (unnamed, appearantly) were both secretly married.
3. Aalya Secura and Clone Commander Bly had a close friendship, and in fact at one point talked about independence and conformity...
4. Part of what drove Anakin to the Dark Side was fear that his wife would die because of the Jedi Order's rules against relationships...
I started thinking about what would happen if these two Masters and two Knights were to stand together against the Order's rules, if nothing else, citing the fact that the Order's immersion in the old ways had nearly caused it's destruction...
I ended up seeing Corran Halcyon, Luke and Leia Skywalker, Mara Jade and others all as childhood playmates having grown up together in a Jedi Order that didn't seperate itself from the rest of the galaxy anymore...
