New KITT revealed. They must burn for this effrontery! I love the current Mustang, but that's just ugly!

Upon further review, I think that's the Super Pursuit mode. The new KITT car (more pics here) will have some “Transformers”-like shape-shifting abilities (the story’s scientific explanation: “nanotechnology”). Thus, three cars will be used: The “KITT Hero” (a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR playing the “everyday Hero car”), the “KITT Attack” (a high-speed version of the Hero car) and a “KITT Remote” (a driverless version). Shoot me, they are cribbing from Viper. I was hoping I was seeing things that weren't there.... Also: Here’s the “Rider” movie’s plot summary from the release: “Sarah Graiman (Russo) is a 24-year-old Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, following in her genius father Charles’ (Davison) footsteps. But when men attempt to abduct her, Sarah receives a mysterious call from KITT warning her that he’s a creation of Charles, who also invented the first KITT 25 years ago—and that her father is in serious danger. Sarah and KITT track down her best friend from childhood, Mike Tracer (Bruening), a 23-year-old ex-Army Ranger, whom Sarah hasn’t seen since he left home at 18. Having served in Iraq, Mike is now jaded and lost and initially resistant. Eventually he agrees to help Sarah and the two set out to discover who’s behind the attempt to procure KITT and find Charles.” God, can we get anything else from the Cliche-O-Matic? Technically, Viper stole the idea from Knight Rider in the first place since "Super Pursuit Mode" was introduced in the fourth season of the original KR.

True, but SPM was just parts extended from the body (ruining whatever aerodynamics the car had in the first place, but I digest); Viper introduced the nanotech "resculpting" they're using in the new show.

Okay, so I sat and watched it last night. Not bad enough to be fun, not good enough to be entertaining. Apparently they scripted for an hour pilot, then realized they had a two hour slot, 'cause they padded the ever-livin' hell outta it. Even the stuff you could see coming a mile away took two miles to get there, if you take my meaning. Val Kilmer as KITT, which was okay. The Hoff showed up in the last five minutes, which was strangely disappointing. Also, all the budget was spent on the cars and KITT, so the other effects are Sci Fi channel class dreck. Extra bonus stupid points for the Bad Guys being from a private security group called Blackriver, the physics defying stunt where said Bad Guys' SUV t-bones KITT, and the bit at the end with KITT backing out of a very shiny, obviously GCI C-130. Oh, and they screwed with the theme song too.
