I'm not exactly the person to be asking if something is wrong or not, remember... I'm just as if not more likely to do something BECAUSE it's wrong. No, they deserve whatever they get. Not for being built next to a Wal-Mart, of course... for being a bunch of insensitive jerks.
Hey, look at it this way, at least they contacted you to tell you that your application was denied. Some places have policies of having applications 'on file' for two or three months and if you don't get accepted in that time, it's discarded and you aren't told or anything.
Why do humans have to have arrogant 'If you're not doing it our way, you're doing it wrong' attitudes? (Yes, I know, I semi-answered this question already; they're humans, what do you expect?)

...You know, I am so damn sick of hearing "at least they told you." IT DOESN'T HELP. And I was thinking "high end store (they sell VERA WANG) built next to cheap ass store in recession" on that. Oh, and I got the platitude "we will keep you in mind" shit.
As for question, because people are bloody assholes since you wanted an additional answer.
How do I tell someone I care about (Oh hell, he doesn't come here anymore, it's Dan) that his ideas are really damn stupid and skirtting copyright laws?

I don't really know, to tell the truth. This is the point where 'Dear Abby' would spout off some meaningless platitude about 'truth hurting' or 'being considerate of others' feelings'... I'm not 'Dear Abby'. I suppose start with the near-copyright violation part and work towards the fact that the ideas need work. To be honest, this isn't a topic I actually feel comfortable trying to give advice on...
Since you raised the subject... It's supposed to be his board, why doesn't Daniel come around anymore?

Hopefully he'll realize for himself how much on drugs his latest concept is (Bunch of clearly ripped off superheros lead by our favorite penguin who's main villain is a bat creature alien thing who doesn't actually want to be their villain but it helps them and yes he realized it's Batman and the Penguin in reverse and he's still going along with it) on his own and I won't have to deal with it.
Well, I can't answer for why he stopped in the first place, but I do know that for about a month or so he was back in the hospital for, his words, a "slight rejection." OF HIS HEART. NOTHING IS SLIGHT ABOUT THAT!
...Yeah. So you heard about the "American" Torchwood yet and no I'm not talking about the current season with our dear Captain Jack?

*Rolls his eyes.* Words fail me and that doesn't happen often...
*Facefaults* This is bound to end badly. I love British tv, I love it dearly. I love it because as much as I love my country, I've come to realize that we Americans, we of the reality television, we cannot do good television. Even worse than screwing up our own ideas is when we take a good idea from Old Blighty and screw it up. We cannot do good television, we cannot do good television based on British shows. Dare I list some? How about just the first two that come to mind?
Red Dwarf - seven series hit in the U.K. 'Red Dwarf US' didn't make it past the pilot.
Top Gear - Ten years in the current incarnation, thirty years in the old format, and 'Top Gear USA' just doesn't match up.
What makes Hollywood think they'll do any better with Torchwood? Unless they can get John to reprise his role as Jack or someone damn good in the position, it won't work. It just won't. The season one finale, if it lasts that long, will come around and those like thee and me who know True Torchwood will be cheering for Abaddon!
Can you think of anyone they could cast that wouldn't ruin the characters?

What little I saw of it (Most of which I spent banging my head on the rocking chair IN FRONT OF MY PARENTS) had a distinct lack of Barrowman. No idea if they'll follow the original show's plot (Though yeah, Bob all the way if they do), and what little of the cast I saw was a bunch of "Who the fuck are you guys?"
Here is the better question: Since Torchwood was founded by Her Royal Bitcheness Queen Victoria to protect the British Empire from alien threats and the Doctor (eyeroll), WHY THE HELL IS THERE AN AMERICAN TORCHWOOD BRANCH?!

Considering that the Victorian era was the late nineteenth, early twentieth century, well after we became a seperate nation... *Shrugs*
That's like UNIT - United Nations Intelligence Task Force (Or 'UNified', since the UN made them rename it for the new series)...
Who the fuck country joins an organization that can take control of a nation's military over the orders of their own government? Can no one see that this is a bad thing?

Better Question;
After Sauron's defeat, the destruction of the One Ring, etc... Do we know what happens to the lands of Angmar, Mordor, et cetera?
I'm asking because I read something about southern Mordor, a region called Nurn or something like that where slaves from the different lands of man were forced to work under the watch of orc overseers growing food and such for Sauron's armies, and I was wondering if they rose up or were liberated or anything after the War of the Ring.

I think they all sank into non-existance. Can't remember.
Why am I trying the college thing again?

Boredom?
Know anywhere that's hiring that won't say "You'll have to go on our website and put in an application"?

None spring to mind, no. Sorry.
Why did Dan think that it was a good idea to write a story set during the Salem Witch Trials with an Eldric Abomination as a witch hunter (Why Cthulu? Because HP Lovecraft lived there apparently), effectively excusing the horrible things the humans did?

Seriously; because he's a good man with a good (albeit in somewhat poor physical condition) heart, he really does want to think the best of people and think that people are essentially good if occasionally led astray by evil entities in the universe.
Somewhat sarcastic (sorry...); and because he no longer comes to the board on a regular basis, neither of us are there to help him keep himself in line, including telling him when his story ideas are severely lacking like we do with each other.
Is it just me, or is he trying a little too hard to come up with an 'Original Fiction' idea?

Well he needs to stop thinking the best of people. Should have the moment he met either of us.
He does IM me (a hell of a lot less since well before the transplant) and I do try to tell him when he's being an idiot but I'm not sure if it's sinking in.
It's not just you and it's not just "a little."
Why did I decide to walk up the the Dalton State gym yesterday after I went to Math Lab for SAT study help? My legs, they scream in pain.

I have no idea... Gyms and me, we don't get along and have little to do with each other, so I can't say anything on that subject.
I know it's Georgia and all, but can't the weather make up its mind for two days in a row? Hot, Cold, Sunny, Cloudy, Wet, Dry, Breezy, Humid.... it's starting to make me want to just crawl in the freezer and hibernate until winter...
