Required? No.... But it's like the old saying - "You don't have to be crazy to work here, but it helps" (A great sign to hang in Highway 2, to be honest).
It's not required, but it seems to be a preference among Transfans. (I'm among the exception in that I missed Generation One, was too young to appreciate Beast Wars, and never watched "Robots In Disguise", "Armada", and most of "Energon" and "Cybertron" and don't watch "Animated", so I don't take the 'fluff' seriously - I just like the toys.)
It's kind of like geeks fighting over which edition of their RPG or wargame what the 'best', except with giant robots instead of orcs and adventurers...
I have an idea for PRL "Escalation", but it would blow... a couple of things taken for granted out of the water... Should I use it anyway?

Good to know. Now I know that I should never ever make even a harmless little joke about some show that I couldn't give a shit about since 2005 because of you and Gibb going on about the movie.
Depends. How bad's the fall out?

Hm...
Don't really know the overall fallout yet. What (might) happen is one of the Rangers actually firing their Blade Blaster in gun mode twice at the 'Monster of the Week' after it makes a comment about how its creator (Mars) has given it total knowledge of how the Rangers fight... the Ranger comments that it only knows about the Ranger, not the person inside the helmet, then shoots it.
Of course, it is then promptly revived, enlarged, and a comment about bigger guns is made.
Thoughts?

Well, as long as it's not ME doing it, since you know my opinion on guns, it seems okay with me. Sounds kinda minor, really.
How do you get someone to shut the fuck up about their fandom for at least ONE night? Politely, if possible.

Not you, don't worry.
Mm... Well, I suppose "I don't really feel like talking about [whatever] tonight, can we talk about something else instead?" might work.
Did you read about the "Holy Grail"/"Clerks" connection?

You're assuming I'm dealing with a sane fan. I'm dealing with a f*cking insane Transfan and Pocky who's decided to dub me a "robophobe" and I'm not sure if she means it teasingly or not.
Yeah, it was okay. Why?

I just still find it amusing.
Phobia means 'fear of', you're not afraid of robots, you just don't care about them one way or the other...
Of course, this is the guy who tunes people out when they start going on and on about things I don't care about one whit, so I'm probably not much good advice here.
Any luck on the job front?

I think she's meaning it in an equivilant to homophobe. And at this point? I hate those robots with the white hot passion of a thousand suns gone supernova. It's all I fucking hear from them anymore! Inferno this, Waspinator that, (BW) Bumblebee this, Prowl that (TF:A), and OH NOES Scorpinock just dug another hole! (07 Movie) SHUT THE FUCK UP PLEASE!
It's... going? I need to make phone calls tomorrow. You?

Good. They're moving many of my frozen meal clients back over to hot meals (well, combination hot plate/salad plate meals, to be exact), so I'll be seeing them more often AND will be getting more miles and thus more mileage pay.
Plus I'll be getting around three or four new clients, so that's also good...
If you and Daniel were playing Buttercup and Westley in a Princess Bridge RPG, how would the "Shortage of Perfect Breasts" scene probably play out?

Simply put, it wouldn't. I'd be too busy admiring other features of hers. ^^
But what would that make you in this PB RPG?

Inigo, of course.
"Do you hear that, Fezzik? That is the sound of eternal suffering - God, I love that sound."
Melon?

No thanks.
Where did the idea for a PB RPG come from?

Well, two of my favorite webcomics are "Screencap comics" using a movie's background for a D&D-type campaign (Lord of the Rings in "DM of the Rings" and Star Wars in "Darths & Droids", respectively).
This got me to thinking about other movies as D&D campaigns and what they would be like - Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Robin Hood: Men in Tights, for examples, actually already seemed like a RPG gamer's take on the legends of King Arthur and Robin Hood (I can just see Lancelot being played by the Hardcore Roleplayer - you know the ones, anything after 2nd Edition D&D is heresy.). As I kept thinking about it, it hit me that Princess Bride was just the kind of way I could see an RPG turning out with us as the players - hidden and not-so-hidden Pop Culture references; lines that sound like random babbling but are plot-important; love, death and everything in between all served up on a nice MLT (Mutton, Lettuce and Tomato).
The idea is now firmly locked in there, I think...
Let me guess, you're picturing yourself wearing a mask and talking about how "They're just terribly comfortable - I think everyone will be wearing them in the future", aren't you?

Not until you mentioned it. ^__^
Would you be willing to help me create and mod a Livejournal based RP, JT?

Eh-heh-heh...
I don't DO Livejournal, Facebook, MySpace, etc., Daniel, you know that.
Why not do it here?
