Usually I either continue a line of questioning already in progress (A), toss of a question relating to current events (B), or just come up with something (C
Anyone else here play (or plan on playing) Final Fantasy XI?

I don't think so. Sorry.
Why'd you pick it up?

...Do you mean "Why did I pick it up" or "Why? Did I pick it up?"
To the second; Yeah - got the Vana'Diel Collection '08 (FFXI, along with the four expansion packs - Rise of the Zilart, Chains of Promathia, Treasures of Ahi Urhgan, and Wings of the Goddess) at Best Buy the other day.
To the first; Part boredom, part a desire to try out an MMORG, partly the chance to meet new people from around the globe and kill things with them. I've played strategy games, linar RPGs (Any of the other Final Fantasys, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, etc.), even free-roaming mission based RPGs (Godfather, Mercenaries, True Crime: NYC), but with all of those you end up in the same place, the storyline doesn't really change. I can play a section until I memorize it then move on to the next and I'll always be able to do it...
FFXI is supposed to be updated regularly, you've got other players constantly changing the face of the game-world, different jobs/sub-jobs, you can play solo or party up...
It's a change. Something different...
Know what I mean?

You know, I can read, and I know the basic properties of grammar. If I meant the second, I would have typed the second. However, I saw that you had mentioned it in another thread. Thus, I knew you'd picked it up. I'm being treated enough like an idiot by Snow, I don't need it from you.
And yeah, I know what you mean, though I've not heard many positive things about it.
Why do I have to be so fucking perfectionistic about my costumes?

Because you don't want to add to the piles of shitty costumes that some lazy fanboy/girl threw together at the last minute so they can fit in at a con, maybe?

Don't they call that 'closet cosplay' or something?

I think they do.
Is it wrong to feel bad for anyone who chooses to cosplay as AstroBoy?

AstroBoy? Little android guy with white t-shirt and red shorts, has his hair up in three spikes, AstroBoy?
No, it's not. They should be pitied and helped to find something better.
Is it strange to write numbers down as Roman numerals?

I don't think so.
Do you mind if I use you as a "professional reference", since we worked together for like... ten months or so? *needs job baaaaaaaaad*

Basically the Hot Topic application and the Goody's application (God, I don't even want to work for that company, just thought I'd look into them) need two (HT) or three (G) "professional references" and I...
...Kinda DON'T HAVE those. So... yeah, can I?

Yeah, I guess so.
Do you realize that none of our former coworkers remain at Movie Gallery?

*blink* Christy AND Maranda are gone? God, I thought those two would never leave.
How'd you come by this info?

Er, I haven't...
I haven't been in there since they fired me. I don't know if they work there still, been fired or if Miranda's now the store manage or what. Honestly, I had forgotten all about them; I was thinking of you and me, Dara and Daniel and Brandon, really.
Could Miranda and Christy really even be called 'coworkers' since they didn't exactly do much work?

*shrug* Who knows.
You're a Transformers fan, so you can answer this. Is it required that they take that shit too seriously?
