49. "Good In My Shirt" by Keith Urban is NOT a Buffy/Angel song. (supposedly. Of course, when has this ever stopped me from getting ideas before?)

Fifty-one; "Magnus. This better be important or someone's getting a katana enema" is not a proper way to answer a phone call.

Or as I like to call it, "It can be the most ridiculous tripe ever written as long as it's long enough" Month. Seriously, as David Morgan-Mar once pointed out, Shakespeare's "Hamlet" wouldn't even qualify for NaNoWriMo, being only some thirty thousand words long instead of that stupid fifty thousand, and "Hamlet" is a classic! www.irregularwebcomic.net/comic.php?current=311&theme=14&dir=prev"It's all about quantity, not quality." Bull. I'd rather read a short but good story than a long pile of dung ("War and Peace", "Gone With the Wind", and anything by Hemingway come to mind as examples of the latter...). Of course, this comes from the guy who can spend a year working on one story in a series... (Side note; I'm also working on a 'filler' piece entitled "...That Within" based on an earlier idea from PRL so that I get SOMETHING out there again...)

Why does everyone confuse this?
The point of the MONTH is quanity, not quality. The QUALTIY portion (Translation: Editing) is to be saved for December. They're not saying write perfection in thirty days. They're saying write a rough draft in thrity days.
This for a person who "I never write rough drafts, I write what I plan on writing with little to no editing" is pretty much law, is a little difficult.
...I'm at 3343 words, and I'm gonna try to get another 3311 out before the end of the night.
EDIT: Also, Hamlet? Is a PLAY. Not a novel. Different animals, those two forms of writing. So don't compare War and Peace to Hamlet. If you wanna write a play, go do ScriptFrenzy.

53. Getting between a girl and her chocolate - stupid; getting between a female Power Ranger and her chocolate - suicidal. (She BIT me! And I'm not talking the fun way here! And all I was doing was bringing it to our room...)

56. Coruscant is NOT a Hive World, and the Jedi are NOT 'Sanctioned Psykers'. (Long story short, Star Wars fanfic read while painting 40k models caused my brain to skip a beat and make some interesting associations.)

or at least, Thou shalt not get caught doing so until it's too late and the fic is already posted...
