I was doing some research, trying to decide whether I should turn a spare Green Goblin Attacktix into Hobgoblin or the lesser known Demogoblin, and some information I found has me wondering...
Demogoblin was a merciless in his quest to punish 'sinners' as Punisher is in his own quest, yet Demogoblin sees all except children as sinners (which makes sense, since children are technically too young to REALLY know a difference between right and wrong and thus can't really be held to account for their sins)...
Near what would become his end, though, he actually began to seek forgiveness for wrongs he had done, even from someone who wanted to (and in the end, would) kill him - Jason Macendale/the Hobgoblin. Demogoblin died saving a mother and her children from a pillar that Hobgoblin had caused to collapse...
What it's got me thinking is this - I can't help but think that, if he hadn't died then, Demogoblin might have gone on to become at least an anti-hero (much like the Punisher), maybe even a full hero, instead of the villain he was.
What do you guys think?
