Today's (well, technically yesterday's) news - Amanda, you don't have to worry about recieving anymore. Because things keep going missing, Dara's put out a notice that no UPS/FedEx/etc. boxes are to be opened by anyone other than herself and that she'll do all the recieving from now on.
(Yellow notepaper, taped to the counter between the check-out stations.)

Well, Amanda and I are now committed to the path of seeing Trainee Girl gone...
After overhearing her talking to a customer, AND making her FOURTH personal call of the day to her husband, about her changing jobs, when Amanda came in this evening with her RP group to rent a movie and get some Dr. Pepper, Amanda and I spoke to Dara about Trainee Girl, her inability to do the job, her excessive personal calls, and now about looking into changing jobs while on company time...

Good News (for us): Maranda's under MPL's... With any luck, she'll get fired for not meeting her metrics...
Bad News (for her) And, when I was checking out a customer she remarked on our "Rent three, get one free" special (yeah, co44all is back) and I explained to the customer that it was actually closer to rent four for $11.99 (it's actually rent four for $12.99, btw) and she tried to correct ME - In Front Of Customers.
Speaking of customers, she STILL doesn't have them sign things they're supposed to!
And, AND she didn't pay attention and rang up a Visa transaction as cash. This wouldn't be so big a problem if SHE HAD MADE ENOUGH CASH TO COVER THE DIFFERENCE IN THE DRAWER! I had to wait until Dara got there so she could sort it out!
And in unrelated bad news - there's a notice over the DVD player, "Only Preview Disc is to be played"...

Update on Trannie Girl:
She came into work twenty minutes late last I worked with her. If she had been any later, I would have told her to go home. Forget it. Don't bother. She did call, though. I was informed she was late.
So, nine o clock rolls around. We have this rule here, if we are not at eighty percent by eight o clock, the MOD sends the other person home. I let an extra hour go by, just in case. So, it's nine.
"Okay, Maranda, you can go home now."
"But I need the hours!"
"If you need the hours, you shouldn't have been late."
"My ride's not here."
Since there were still pepole in the store, I couldn't just throw her out. So, she stayed until ten.
Look, dumbass. When the MOD says "Go home", the MOD means "GET YOUR LAZY ASS OUT OF THE STORE!" Do not contradict me.
I want her gone two weeks ago.

Oh, it gets better.
I thought I was working with Brandon tonight... Turns out he switched with Maranda (who, I should add, claims told Brandon she was gonna be late that day, supports the customer's claims that you yelled at her, and says that Brandon told her he told you.)
As for tonight... In the words of JMS, "At this moment, I am preternaturally calm about all this, having passed beyond anger earlier this evening into a kind of zen state of consciousness, utterly unable to wrap my brain around the absolute stupidity of something like this for more than two minutes at a time.
By morning, this will have worn off.

More angry customers in one night than iin the whole eight months I've worked there...
She had some six or seven personal calls tonight...
Pulled up the wrong account (right name, wrong account) and THEN wondered WHY she couldn't give a credit... (Had to ask me for help)
STILL bothers the other clerk (ME!)'s customers...
Tried to correct me again.
(Ha, I won though...
"See, I told you it was in."
"Maranda... He was looking for X-Box.")
And when I told her that when she checks in movies she needs to check the list and make sure they're not off it (and I DIDN'T pull any punches, I even told her that we've told her this a dozen times), she tries to claim she didn't check it in (Oh, so now I'm checking them in without going near them? Bullshit...) AND says I'm yelling at her. (I was being forceful, but I'm tired of this shit.)
I simply went in the back and didn't come out until she had to come back there and ask me to because lines were forming.
Ghouley the Movie Gallery Glove Ghost made another appearance so I could have someone INTELLIGENT to work with (Sure, he's full of hot air, but his head isn't a vacuum, at least!)
Suffice to say, I'm gonna be ranting a lot at work tomorrow, Amanda....
