Idlely, she wondered if the organization her cousin Anung worked for needed another demonic agent in its ranks. It'd probably be better than watching your father - who was red - and your teammate - who was green - wearing yellow suits and making comments like "Ssssmokin'!" and "Ssssomebody sssstop me!"

It didn't help that her mother and her other teammates were laughing - LAUGHING! - at them!

And her emotions too!

'Why are you ALL laughing? Happy and Rude I can understand... but Knowledge? Timid?? ANGER!?!' That last one surprised her the most.

'What? He may be an idiot, but he's a CUTE idiot.' Affection spoke up, quickly seconded by her sister emotions.

'Et tu, Anger?'

'When I consume you and destroy the world, I think I'll let him live and make him my consort. He holds plenty of rage...' Raven could almost see her red-clad emotion licking her lips, 'And when he let's it out as the Beast... yummy.'

Rude chuckled, 'Think between the two of us we can make her jump him? ...Wouldn't that blow Mother's mind...'

Affection shook her head, covered in a cloak that was a lighter shade of green than Courage's, a shade similar to that of one of Raven's teammates, 'Rude, you have no sense of romance.'

'Hey, romance is your department. Lust is my department, so stick to your's and leave me to mine, okay?'

'ALL OF YOU SHUT UP!' Raven yelled, just barely keeping from doing so outloud. Even so, a nearby Gamestation disc cracked, then shattered.

Probably my current favorite scene from The Parent Meeting. What do you guys think?

It's just a line. But it's something I wanna put into a story I'm working on eventually:

"Good evening, ladies! I hate to tell you this, but you're about thirty thousand miles too far east, and eight hours to late for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader tryouts."

The first part of my first New Invaders story (still in progress...)

In every person's life, there comes a time when they have to accept being part of something bigger than themselves. For me, it was the winter of 2001-2002. I had left G.I. Joe: Frontline to go on to college, my original plan before my brother convinced me to join him in that team, and had somehow managed to acquire a part-time job at Stark Industries - something I remain convinced my brother had a hand in - and through amazing coincidence - amazing in the fact that it truely was coincidence and not contrivance - had met a man named Lamont Cranston, who, like me, had mental abilities beyond most normal people. The origins of these powers were different for the two of us, but the powers themselves were similar enough that, after a 'demonstration' involving an attempted mugging, three easily frightened street gang members, and a slightly-impressed ex-hero, he chose to train me.

All of this took place before the winter break was finished, and by the time Empire State University's new semester began, I, John Henry Magnus, formerly 'Havoc' and a Sergeant in G.I. Joe: Frontline, was registered to attend - funded, of course, by the U.S. Military for having served. It helps having a very SHORT chain of command. - and study mechanical engineering as a major and biology as a minor, the second stemming from being an occasional field medic over the past year and finding a slight interest in the field.

And I now, at times, find myself cursing my brother for being right the day I left the unit in his words. They echo in my mind even now, much as one of my closest friends' uncle's do in his own, and I curse him for being right and I thank him for being right, both in the same breath, usually. I can still hear him now...

"John, if you think that this is what you want, do it. I know as well as you do about shadows, but I've learned you don't have to outshine them, just made them part of you, you never were good at that, you always wanted to stand out, so I understand you wanting to go. But just remember this... 'When a man knows his destiny, and God has a plan for his life... no one can change what's supposed to be, no matter how hard they try.'"

I didn't think much of it at the time, both my brother and my grandfather were always talking like that, but now I'm beginning to understand the deeper meaning behind what was said...

Questions? Comments? Curses upon me and my heirs unto the nineth generation?
