"So wait, you two are something like distant cousins?" He pointed between J.T. and Amanda.
"Right," The Black Literati Ranger answered.
Jason then pointed first at Amanda, then Jon, then J.T., back to Jon, then Amanda again and finally at Daniel, "And you used to date him, but now you want to kill him, both of them really, and they want to kill each other, but he likes you again... except you're engaged to him."
Amanda nodded sagely.
Jason continued, growing more erratic as he looked from J.T. to Jessica, "For that matter, he's dating her."
J.T. tilted his head in affirmation.
"And to top it all off, the reason you two are related is because you're both descended from," and here Jason gestured wildly at Tommy, "HIS CLONE?"
The Black and Yellow Literati Rangers spoke in unison, "Exactly."
"This is INSANE!" Jason concluded.
Amanda blinked, "Well DUH."

"You've changed, Jonathan. The way you were a year ago I would have just as soon killed you as looked at you."
"And now?"
"Oh, I'd still just as soon kill you - it'd just be a lot less painful for you."

Interview With The AuthorAbout Amanda/Yellow RangerAmanda is different from all other Rangers in that she is quite possibly the first Ranger ever who doesn't want to be a Ranger. Where her teammates are accepting of the Power, some of them in fact are quite fond of it, Amanda would rather it never have chosen her - leaving her to finish school, start a career, marry Daniel and move far, far away from Scenic City and her family. This leads to frequent bouts of annoyance with her teammates during their more childish moments, bouts that usually end with Daniel saying things such as "Yes, dear" more to calm her down than out of being 'whipped' or anything. In fact, sometimes it seems that the only reason she remains is because Daniel does. At the same time, however, Amanda is also perfectly willing to use the Power to support her whenever she choses to use force to settle a problem. She was also the first Literati to discover that they could channel their Spirit Armor energies into their Spiritzords, and the first to learn how to use parts of the Power out of morph - if there's any connection between this and her reluctantance to be a Ranger, it hasn't been found yet. As with nearly all characters, the first designs focused more on the color than the character. With the redesigns, the skirt was switched for a pair of purple jeans and the shirt was changed to an off-the-shoulder blouse... the $200-Can't get it wet-plan to be buried in it-leather jacket, however, remained the same. Like most female Yellow Rangers, as the Yellow Literati Witch Ranger, Amanda's uniform DOES NOT have a skirt. Instead, like all Literati Rangers, Amanda has a Literati Shield, the female version taking the form of full upper body armor to protect sensitive areas. In the Yellow Ranger's own words "How did other Ranger girls do it without protection?" During the events of "Glory Unseen", Amanda and the other Literati Rangers gained more power in the form of Spirit Armor. While the physical changes were minor - an armored skirt along with the standard arm and leg guards for protection and an additional weapon in the form of a staff - the greatest change was in her magickal abilities, instead of splashes of water and candle-lighting bursts of flame she could freeze opponents in blocks of ice or melt them into puddles with searing flame. After Malleus Maleficarum would free Ivan Ooze, Amanda and the other Literati - drained of their Power - would leave Earth in the hands of the other Ranger teams attempting to drive back Ivan Ooze while they travelled to the far planet Phaedos to seek the warrior Dulcea and being their quest for the Great Power. At last coming to complete terms with being a Ranger, Amanda gained access to the Great Power, becoming the Yellow Stag Literati Ninja.

Wisdom: Andrew Daniel Yolanda
Valor: Amanda J.T. Mack
Kindness: Jessica Justin Zack
(A cyber-cookie for anyone who figures it out. Hint: Season two is divided into one major and two minor story arcs... well, let me rephrase that, two shorter but more important story arcs with a longer but less "overall-arc" story arc in between them.)

Just a thought for a possible addition to the season one finale for the Rangers (Power and Literati) to fight in addition to the corrupted Megazord (Dark Megazord, whatever...)
**==
Jason took a step back, "Serpentara! I thought we destroyed that thing!"
All the gathered Rangers could hear Zedd's laughter, "Fools, did you really think I'd leave my most powerful weapon where any of Mondo's machines or some human spaceman could get to it? What I left on the moon was a drone, a weaker imitation of Serpentara!"
"Dammit," Tommy cursed, "I should've known Cole destroyed it too easily!"
**==
That way it's more even - Serpentara and Dark Megazord against Blizzard Force Megazord, Literati Megazord and Dragonzord (don't know how - or if - Fire'don will play a part)...
Plus a little dig at "Forever Red" for how the NEW GUY could just destroy it with a flying motorcycle...

Just because I was bored and it came to mind, a bit of a very, very far in the future (Post anything planned at the moment) drabble for PRL... Inspired by a scene from TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze...
**== WARNING! PROFANITY! I say again, this is a WARNING that the following drabble involves PROFANITY!
**==
As the number of Rangers in Scenic City - Literati and otherwise - grew, J.T. had taken it upon himself to convert part of the Command Center into a living area complete with private rooms for each of the Rangers in case they wanted to stay at the Command Center for any length of time as well as a larger commons area with entertainment center, library and kitchen to make it more livable. Because one had to be a Ranger to enter the Command Center in the first place, it provided a nice place for the different Rangers to wind down after a fight and talk without having to worry about anyone finding out things they shouldn't.
As an unfortunate side effect, though, it also ended up being the site of inter-Ranger brawls many times.
Yolanda and Billy were sitting on one of the couches, watching a movie - though to be more accurate, Billy was sitting on the couch and Yolanda was sitting on his lap - trying to focus on it over the noises behind them.
"Whose revolution?"
"That, Detective, is the right question. Program terminated."
"You sorry-ass, slag-spouting, chicken-shit son-of-a-bitch! Don't you even think of turning your back on me when I'm cursing at you unless you want eighteen inches of Zyusoken in it!"
"And don't YOU damn swear at me, you holier-than-thou bastard!"
Because of his position, Billy couldn't see what was going on behind him, though his girlfriend could, so he had to ask, "Fight?"
Before Yolanda could answer, Jon came flying over the couch and crashing into the floor between the couple and the television.
"Fight," Yolanda said simply.
"Kitchen?"
"Kitchen."
There were several ways the two could have gotten to the kitchen of the living area, but most of them would have involved getting between J.T. and Jon - a prospect neither Blue Power Ranger nor Pink Literati Ranger found appealing - so they simply settled for using their communicators to teleport away from the room that was rapidly becoming a battleground. As the two appeared in the kitchen, standing side by side, Zoltar looked up from the book he was reading, one from J.T.'s collection, Yolanda noted.
"Fight?" The Eltarian Ranger asked.
"Fight," Billy answered.
Yolanda looked at the bag laying on the table in front of Zoltar, "Pork rind?"
Zoltar nodded, picking up the bag and holding it out to her, "Pork rind."

Bonus points for those who can guess the movie Yolanda and Billy are watching!

Ivan slumped down in his throne, depressed, "WHY does this always happen? I gather my power and forces, break free, somebody gathers a bunch of teenagers who kick my ass and lock me back in that damn egg - every time. What did I do to deserve this? I mean, I just want to destroy the forces of good, conquer the universe and maybe spend a couple months out of the year at a spa getting pampered. Is that too much to ask? Really?"

"Everyone, if I could have your attention please?" J.T. said loudly, wearing his uniform sans-helmet and Literati Shield, "Uh, Red Rangers stop necking with your respective lovers? Could someone get the Dino-babies out of the Aisle?"
The hundred other Rangers and allies gathered at the Hartford estate never heard a word the Black Literati Ranger said.
J.T., for his part, rolled his eyes and looked at Watanabe-Sensei, standing in front of the group, who shrugged. Glancing around, he finally locked eyes on one of the larger 'guests'.
"To hell with this," J.T. said, reaching for the Dragon Dagger and bringing it to his lips, playing a tune on it. In response, Dragonzord slammed its tail against the ground a couple times for attention, causing several of the smaller humanoid guests to stumble.
"Now that I have your attention," The Literati Ranger said, returning the Dragon Dagger to its sheath, "We're gathered here today for a first in Ranger history - married Rangers aren't uncommon, but they usually are 'inactive' when they tie the knot - Today, however, we're here to watch as the first active duty Rangers get married - Amanda Violette and Daniel Curtindolph, the Yellow Witch and Blue Demon Literati Rangers. While in the eyes of the law, Amanda and Daniel were already married in a ceremony back home in Scenic City, today carries with it the import of wedding not in the eyes of the law but in the eyes of friends and comrades... and sentient giant robots -"
Various sounds that could be described as forms of laughter came from the Zord section.
"-Before we begin, on behalf of the betrothed, I'd like to thank Watanabe-Sensei for agreeing to officiate and Andrew Hartford for donating his property to hold this gathering on... Now, I could stand up here and roast friend and cousin for a while, but I think I'll save that for afterwards, so let's get this wedding started."

"Wow, my life is so enriched by this that I can't even BEGIN to imagine how I lived otherwise," Jon said sarcastically, "...Remind me again why I'm fighting with you instead of still trying to kill you all?"
Amanda narrowed her eyes, "Shut up, Lilac, or I'll have J.T. slit your throat while you're sleeping."
"Oh, I'd do it, too," J.T. added, "Normally wouldn't, but in your case I'd make an exception."

"Maintaining Giant Robots? Easy. Handling alien computer systems? So not a problem. Understanding Matter Teleportation? Depends on where you stand with Heisenburg. Undertaking intergalactic travel? Not on Fridays and Saturdays, that's when my games are....."
J.T. paused, then started laying into the device in front of him with his fists each time he said a word, "So why the BLOODY HELL can't I get this God-forsaken piece of scrap metal to work right?"
"J.T.," J.T. looked up to see Zoltar standing in the doorway to the common area, "I believe the video gaming device is dead, there's no further reason to abuse its casing."

"You want to tell them or should I?"
The other Literati gave Yolanda and Billy a Look-with-a-capital-L.
"Tell us... What, Yo-Yo?"
The pink Ranger smiled at her longest friend, "I'm pregnant! That's why I've been so moody!"
All of the male Rangers present, minus Billy himself, but with the addition of a certain tomboy Green Ranger, shuddered.
"Do you feel it?" Daniel asked.
"Yes, yes I do," Jessica answered to a chorus of nods from the boys.
"It's like a million babysitters cried out in horror and then were silence," J.T. shuddered again.
"We were thinking Margo if it's a girl and Bridge if it's a boy," Yolanda continued, oblivious to her teammates' reactions.
