Yes. I read on Wiki about several women who died trying to abort their children by usung that stuff. Who would want to "promote menstruation" with a plant? Most women I know, including you, hate their periods.

There's some dumbass idea in wicca that if you have your period on the day of the new or full moon, all magickal workings you do that day get an extra burst of power.
Hell, any spell you do when your on your period at all is apparently better. Sorry, the last thing on my mind when I'm my period is doing any magickal workings. I don't care if it is supposedly a day of power. The only spell in my mind is that one I made up to dull the pain and the "head near the celieing" feeling.
Also, say I pick a date for the wedding, and just as luck would have it, I start my period soon before or after. In that case (If I couldn't get my hands on birth control pills), I would try to get it over with before.
Other than that, I don't know.
"Pennyroyal Tea" by Nirvana makes more sense now, though.
