Maybe PRL should have it's own wiki.

Interview with the Writer About Dark Ranger
You know, Dark Ranger's existance owes itself to two facts. First off, I wanted a 'villian' Ranger who would stay a 'villian', instead of the traditional joining the good Rangers. Oh, sure, Jon will aid and fight alongside the Literati, but only when it serves his purposes, which leads to the second thing - Jon is what the others could have become. Each of the Literati themselves had something more than their self to fight for; For J.T., it was Jessica and making a difference. For Jessica, it was J.T. and their love. For Amanda, it was Daniel and a world where people weren't brought down by those that should support them. For Daniel, it was Amanda and a dream. For Yolanda, it was hope. For Justin, it was to protect his friends.
But Jon had none of that, unlike them, he never managed to break out of the cliques and such, so he never had nothing to believe in but himself, which is what drives him. He doesn't care if he's working with Mars and Dreamweaver and fighting the Rangers one day and saving the Rangers from them the next, he just cares that he comes out on top in the end. That, actually, is what makes him such an interesting character to write, since unlike the other villian-types for the series, he has no real agenda, he's not a Good Guy, but at the same time he's not a true Bad Guy, he's like his name says, a Dark Ranger. Dark in the sense that he's not completely light, but not completely emmersed in evil, either, like a dark cloudy day, for example. It looks bad, but the sun is hiding right behind the clouds.
With Mars hating Daniel and not really caring about the other Rangers, or Dreamweaver hating them all, the way Jon looks at the team is a welcome change when it comes to writing. He had, at one time, a genuine interest in Amanda (before Daniel) but destroyed his chances with her because 'society' said that he had to date multiple girls at once, and he still occasionally shows affection for her (although warped at times) but also dwells on the anger from her rejection, creating a series of mixed emotions towards her. The other main foil to Jon is J.T., who Jon enjoys irritating by using his real name, and the thing there is that on one side you have Jon, a person who was high up in popularity because of his looks and being on the various sports teams and who because of that believed he was a leader and on the other side you have J.T., who was liked because he didn't give into the popularity groups and became accepted as a leader of the school on his own merits and was just as athletic as Jon, yet saw no reason to take part in school sports that would never mean anything to him just because of that. Of course the two are going to clash. They both strive to be number one, but each for different reasons, so you've got this situation that will often lead to Jon helping the Rangers individually or collectively just so he can beat them himself and prove to himself that popularity wasn't lying, that he really is the best. For the Rangers, he's a constant reminder of what they could become if they let themselves fall.
There's been a few different influences on Jon, and on his relationships with the Rangers. Jon's Venom to J.T.'s Spider-Man, dispite the gender inversion he's Catwoman to Amanda's Batman, Vicious to J.T.'s Spike. Bass from Mega Man, Red X from Teen Titans, Decker from the A-Team, I could list minor and major influences to Jon's character all night, but when it's said and done the most important thing is this; Jon looks out for number one, everything else is secondary, even what side he's on.
(...And for some reason, I was hearing Stan Lee's voice narrating as I typed this. Weird...)

Unplanned... but interesting;
Wicca (or at least one form of it) has five elements; Earth, Air, Water, Fire and Aether or Spirit...
The symbol for Spirit is a circle divided into eight parts.
Not counting Jon, who isn't truely one of the Literati, in the end there are eight Literati Rangers. (Dragon, Phoenix, Witch, Demon, Knight, Siren, Dino and Earth)
The Spirit plays a big part in PRL.

Question;
For a gag-crossover, which would you guys prefer teaming up with; Planeteers or Samurai Pizza Cats? (I'm leaning towards the Cats myself - could you imagine J.T. and Speedy trying to out-sarcasm each other?)

Just finished reading it. So when will the graveyard scene payoff arrive? And why so many car puns?

1. ...Uh, it was the payoff - showing, unlike the regular series, that the Literati Rangers still have lasting effects from some of their battles. However, it will pay off further when we die.
2. Uh, maybe because we were fighting CAR Org?

I'm about to do something REALLY crazy; I'm gonna let you guys pick the next PRL episode. - - "Day One"
How can new Highway 2 hire Luis be expected to learn the ropes when the other employees keep disappearing? Meanwhile, the Rangers are having a tough time fighting Mars' new Cameolion monster because it keeps turning invisible and disappearing until one of the Rangers (Yolanda, FYI) hits upon using paint to keep it visible. (Introducing Luis as Highway 2's newest employee)
- - "Another Day of Scenic City Insanity"
Mindless, pointless, PLOTLESS insanity - featuring anything from a certain Sailor Moon-inspired battle intro to...whatever else I end up writing in.
- - "One Heart, One Mind"
Dreamweaver's latest plot leaves J.T. and Jessica hearing each others thoughts. Can they adjust and regain their ability to morph in time, or will Dark Ranger succeed in destroying Reagan Dam and making Scenic City a wash-out? (This helps to set up part of the PRL/SPD crossover)
