Any opinions other than that?

I think I wouldn't so much be crying as cursing J.T. for breaking his promise...

Anubis Cruger, 'Doggie' to his closest friends and Commander of the Earth S.P.D. base watched the Ranger train in the simulator with a force and fury the Sirian had seen only once before - during the time after Grumm and the Troobian Empire had destroyed Sirius and he had made it his life to defeat them. An apt comparison taking into account that the young man he was watching had been torn from his own world and thrown a lifetime into the future to a time when everything and everyone he know was gone, leaving him only one thing to fall back on - finding and defeating the monster that had destroyed his life and he would do everything in his power and more to do so.
Cruger knew well that the time-lost Literati Ranger would succeed, he could see it in the storm-gray eyes that seemed to flash like lightning in a thunderstorm. He was adapting and learning faster than any human Anubis had ever met, absorbing the changes in technology and taking the advanced fighting styles of the future he was now in and making them his own. Which was why Anubis was there. When Sirius had been destroyed, all but two Masters of the Galaxy Sword Style had died with it and the other remaining Master had been Judged by Anubis himself and confined.
And yet many would call the Ranger practicing with a Deltamax Striker in the simulator a master himself. It was amazing to the Sirian that the human had even been able to add techniques of the Galaxy Sword to his own fighting style, techniques gained from Anubis himself when the Commander had agreed to spar with him over the past several days. It was also unsettling to think that the criminal they were looking for had not only been able to beat this Ranger, but his entire team as well, very unsettling. Which was why Cruger had agreed when Magnus had started going through storerooms and rarely-used weapons lockers, looking for any equipment he could use to his advantage, including the R.E.D. unit, and which was why he was going to do what he was about to do...
"End simulation."
With a grunt of frustration, the lost Literati swung the Deltamax Striker he was using in place of the Dragon Sword he couldn't summon being out of synch with his Dragon Spirit.
"Why'd you interrupt? I had fifteen more Krybots to go!"
"Fifteen Krybots?" Doggie raised an eyebrow.
"I started with a hundred," J.T. answered coldly as he holstered the Deltamax Striker, "And one on one, or a hundred, or a thousand, I DON'T plan on losing again."
Doggie smiled and reached behind his back.
"You might do better with this," he said, pulling out a sword.
J.T. took a closer look at it, it was similar to the Shadow Saber he had seen Doggie use, except that seemed to have a bird-of-prey design to the head rather than the dog design of the Shadow Saber.
"What is it?"
"It's called the Ocean Saber, a sister-blade to my own Shadow Saber, it belonged to Icthior, another S.P.D. member at one time," a shadow of sadness passed across the Shadow Ranger's face, "At one time we were friends, both students of the same fighting style, then we both met Isinia..."
"I see," J.T. nodded, he did.
"He was thrown out of the Sirius Academy for being dishonorable. Eventually he came here, to Earth, to dishonor S.P.D. by stealing our badges, the symbols of S.P.D... He was Judged and found guilty. The Ocean Saber wasn't confined with him, however, and I think it's time it was used for honor and justice once more, to cleanse it..."
"And cleanse your school," J.T. added.
"Yes, and to remove Ichthior's stain from the Galaxy Sword style," Doggie admitted.
J.T. reached out his hand and took the Ocean Saber...
"Ocean Saber... POWER UP!"
The aged look of the blade disappeared, revealing silvery steel underneath as the head opened. J.T. didn't move the blade as he looked at it.
"Ocean Saber... fitting..."
"How do you mean?"
"Three reasons - I'm a water person... Scorpio is a water sign," J.T. paused as Doggie groaned, "And most importantly, Jessica once told me that my personality was like the ocean; sometimes rough, sometimes calm, playful, or even destructive... And like the ocean," he continued, mirroring one of Doggie's own movements as he lifted his left hand with middle and index fingers and thumb out, moving it across his face, "Calm on the surface, but the undercurrent..."
In a split second, J.T. had turned his head to the left, the same direction his hand was now pointing, and brought the Ocean Saber back to rest on his should as the Dragon Sword often did.
"It can kill ya."
(Just an idea I had, it may or may not be used. The reason I refer to the way Doggie {and Ichthior} fights as 'Galaxy Sword Style' is because even though it had no name in Space Patrol Delta, Boss's fighting style in Special Police Dekaranger was 'Galaxy Sword Style' and Doggie was based on Boss.)

re: Jessica: I just wrote how the dream presented. And ya know something, I feel better for having written it. My head was starting to hurt.
Re: J.T.'s bit: Nice. Very nice.

The 'hundred Krybots' thing is actually a reference to "Shadow pt2" when Benagg refuses to fight Doggie until he first beats one hundred robotic foot soldiers... The big blue dog didn't even break a sweat. (And yes, I watched and learned.)
What did you think of the 'Calm on the surface, but the undercurrent can kill you' line?

(Shrugs) It's you, what can I say?
What did you think of the deaths? I've got a scene with Amanda standing at the graves in the works in my mind. It should be really good. I hope.

Hm....
Yolanda arguing about which twin(?) she wants to spend afterlife with, you and Daniel trying to get in one last make-out session before he fades away...
Jigoku no Banken having to drag us through the gates with his teeth...
Yep, it's how we'd die alright...

Well, Mandos and Lorien aren't exatly twins persay, just two of the Valar who happen to be brothers. Mandos rules the Halls of the Dead, Lorien's gardens only have one person there: Feanor's mother, the first Elf ever to die.
No frikin' clue where Zack's death came from, though.

If there's only one person there, why would Yolanda want to spend eternity in the Garden?

Cause the garden's pretty and peaceful. And Lorien's married to the Vala of rest, which is something I think all of us need.
I've always pictured the Halls as big ol caves, dark and such.
And who cares if there's only one person? I'd rather hang with Feanor's mother than Feanor himself or any of his kinslaying friends. It's their fault in the long run for the War of the Ring.

I always thought the halls were more like Valhalla: One big pub for those who died.

Yeah. I didn't think you'd be getting the Ocean Saber. Isn't RED enough for you?

You're forgetting one major thing - I'm Power-less and we (J.T. and S.P.D.) are about to go up against a monster that's already killed one team of Rangers. We need all the weapons and equipment we can get.
Plus, you talk like they're permanent - after returning to the past, R.E.D. spends most of his time as 'Bruno', J.T.'s pet pit bull, only dropping the hologram when the Rangers need more firepower... And I don't even know if the Ocean Saber travels to the past (if it does, it'll end up in the Command Center's 'museum') or is returned to Doggie before J.T. leaves.
