- ...If you've ever quoted "Clerks" the movie while watching "Clerks: The Animated Series". (And you might also have caused a causality loop by doing it, too...)
Episode 2, Dante, Randall, Jay and Silent Bob and locked in the Quick Stop's freezer and reminising... Dante mentions Caitlyn Bree and I commented "Miss Asian Design Major herself" (I know it's not the full line, but still).

- ...Your first reaction to this Whiteboard strip was to shout "Genma Saotome!".
- ...Your significant other's response to your reaction involved a headslap.
(And I'll note that this was before reading the next strip where the comic made the Genma comment.)

...Seven years out, you still twitch at the word "kanashimii."

Okay, I give. I'll ask. What brought this on?

Far too many songs with that word in them.

Ah. I know what you mean. "Real Folk Blues", for one, comes to mind.

That one and "Velvet Underground," the theme song for Weiss Kruez. Few others that I can't recall the titles to off the bat.

You know, this is going to make me look really... really stupid... but does anyone here even know what kanashii means? I know I don't...

It means sad. And don't feel bad, I had to double check. Our dear idiot was pretty much right on his translation of the title.

I'm reminded of an ancient saying about stopped clocks...

Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't meant as seriously as we all took it, but then I remember that this isn't Peter Suzuki and "Passion Satisfying..."we're looking at.

Two answers come to mind. The generous one is that, if after seven years people still can't figure out it's not serious then you've done something wrong in your presentation...
The vindictive bastard one is that there are some things that are innately serious, the subject matter of the story in question being one of them.

Well, I was thinking more like, what if it was written to evoke this exact reaction? To show just how wrong the whole concept is. A deconstruction, if you don't mind the TV Tropes jargon. Which, speaking of TVT, apparently this fic is quite infamous over there as well, though they claim there has never been a successful MST of it. I always thought you managed one.
But I'm probably being too nice.

*Frowns slightly*
Did I ever actually get around to it? I know I always meant to, but I can't remember if I actually did... It's been a long time... a lifetime...
Hm...
Wait, it was one of my SI-MSTs, wasn't it? I think the desktop all those were on crashed and I never was able to retrieve them. Hm... if you have a copy of it - or any of my other Anime Star or SI-MSTs - laying around, could you email them to me or something?

Nope, not anymore. They were all in my old mac and I never managed to get them off the thing. Wish I did. But I think the AniStar ones might still be on the old TMFFA site. FOUND UP TO ANISTAR 13! www.tmffa.com/old/frame.html Dunno how useful the link is, but I'm sure you'll find them anyway. /off to gorge self on Ksa, Peter, Poet, and Cav and Dav MSTs now... Oh hay, there's the Intergalactic Orgy Ship! ...I know where raw versions of KnI are. Wanna get back into the groove and do it sometime?
