I'm a little depressed.
That Doctor Who/Harry Potter crossover I'm fiddling with? The one where after Harry dies after the books and The Master dies in 'End of Time', they meet in the afterlife and plot revenge and figure out a way to return to life by combining their respective energies with the side effect of fusing into one being?
I posted the first tidbit three days ago (involving a victorious Master gloating to the Doctor in the future) and a second one (Harry at Gringott's) yesterday...
Two-hundred and fifty three hits, five reviews, favorited eight times and placed on 14 alert lists, not counting those who have already previously had me as a favorite author or on author alert.
Why can't I get that kind of response for some of my other projects?
PRL 'Escalation'? Almost four years of work... thirty-two hits. That's it.
It took me longer to decide whether or not I wanted to post the HP/DW thing than it did to write it and it got that massive response...
Depressing... But informative. Write a few more quickie shorts and compare the response to some more longer ones, see which type gets more attention over-all... hm...

If I ever took her seriously before, I'll never be able to take Melody Pond/River Song from Doctor Who seriously again now that I know she shares her name with a song by Dennis Wilson of 'The Beach Boys'.

I don't deny it, I just think of Indiana Jones when I think of Operation Overdrive. Can you blame me?
That reminds me... PRL ideas...

"In an ideal multi-national task force, the Brits would supply the fliers, the Japanese would be the navy, the Germans would handle armor and artillery, Americans would be the ground troops... and Special Forces would come from Canada - nobody ever remembers Canada, they'd just be able to walk into an enemy camp, blow it to shite, walk out and everyone would blame the U.S."
"What about rations?"
"That would be the Italians."

Okay, just had this weird thought that I had to inflict on the rest of you...
And does he ever mean 'inflict'...
What, you'd rather be the only one to suffer from it?
...Anyway... imagine this scene...
"I'm Ianto Jones."
"And I'm Doctor Martha Jones."
Then in unison, "No Relation" ala Buster and Babs from Tiny Toons

Possible near-future projects;- Could work on "Pinch Hitter"...
- or my 'West Wing' "No More Freeride" idea...
- Maybe my answer to Writer's challenge for 'Naruto'... the one where he finds the Right Hand of Doom and the Samaritan in the Forbidden Scroll.
- My alternate season two for 'Captain Power'?
- "Boy-Without-Fear"?
- Harry Potter/James Bond "Raised By Q"
Raised By list
- HP/BPRD "Raised By"
Hm... Both Harry and Liz were called 'freaks' growing up, could be a bit of protectiveness there on her part from it...
- Indiana Jones/HP "Raised By"
- There's that 'Enterprise' idea I had where after 'Home' Soval contacts Trip and has him come to Earth where Mirror-T'Pol is, resulting in the bonds between the Mirror and Prime couples shifting and bonding Trip-Prime and Mirror-T'Pol (Thinking T'Mara as a corruption of T'Pol-Mirror), Trip leaves the Enterprise after the 'Vulcan Trilogy' and after the events of the Terra Prime arc, the crew of the Enterprise get an invitation to a reunion at the Tucker family home. (Trip's parents) A surprise awaits them... Soval is friends with Charles II, Trip and T'Mara of Vulcan/Mara Tucker are married...
- NBK/"Don't Stand So Close To Me"
- The NBK idea I had inspired by Beth Mott's "Truth About Josie", the one where Josie and Sam meet at college and are married when the Sun-Times sends her undercover at South Glen South.
- SeaQuest "Provoke Not Thy Children"
- Either of my AU SW Prequel ideas
- That newer idea of an alternate set of SW prequels where events get pushed back ten years, the events of Episode One not happening until Padme is twenty-two/Anakin is 19, Anakin is free, this also pushes back Sharad Hett's death since he died the same year Ep1 took place...
Sharad discovers the Force-sensitive Anakin and trains him alongside his own son, resulting in a trained Anakin when Padme and the Jedi arrive on Tatooine, but not a Temple-indoctrinated one. Seeing his own death approaching and the intertwined fates of Anakin and Padme, Sharad and A'Sharad join the part. Sharad ends up dying in Qui-Gon's place on Naboo, Qui-Gon takes over teaching Anakin while A'Sharad becomes Obi-Wan's apprentice. (Darth Krayt essentially takes Vader's place as 'Palpatine's pet')
- The SeaQuest idea where Robert returns to find the world's moved on.
Calvin and Hobbes meet their match with a babysitter whose imagination is equal to Calvin's own. Done for now.
- SG-1/MacGyver with Jack/Mac married to Sam before SG-1 starts
- NCIS 'Hippo'-phobia crackfic where Gibbs has Bert watch a suspect with a fear of hippos.
- Naruto/40k "Walking The Maelstrom Path
- NCIS/"Rake and Ramblin' Man", TIVA
- Harry Potter/Etrigan crossover idea
- The loose idea I had for NCIS that could work almost anywhere about Ziva answering her landline 'DiNozzo residence'
- Batman Beyond (season two)/Phantom 2040 crossover
- Doctor Who/SG-1 "Intersections in Space/Time
- Clerks - What if Dante had walked out when he said he would?
- Buffy/Angel "Mr. Gordo Flew Today"
- Buffy/Angel "Fate Twists like a Pan-Galactic Gargleblaster" - Buffy is the reincarnation of the Gypsy girl Angelus killed.
- Ranma 1/2, "Rules of Acquisition"; Someone gives Nabiki a copy of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition.
- Buffy. "The Wanna-Be Slayer"
- Buffy/Angel, "Key to Love"
- non-fandom specific anti-pairing fic based on "What Kind Of Fool Do You Think I Am" by Lee Roy Parnell.
- SW Prequels, humor/romance, post-II, Pre-III; The council discovers Anakin's marriage and sends him off to live with his wife.
- Recess/Fillmore - "Beer for My Horses"
- Mummies Alive/Sailor Moon with Endymion and Rapses related; Presley/Nefertina, Mamoru/Usagi.
- What If Spider-Man had joined the X-Men?
- What if Zartan had not betrayed the Arashikage?
- PR: DinoToons, just to piss people off?
Could work on "Kitty's Joyride" "Joyride" is done... but I think it's spawned a series... "Sons of Liberty" is next...
- West Wing, Eden Too
- SWAT Kats, "All You Think You Know"
- B5 AU with Michael and Talia
- "On Her Majesty's Magical Service", HP/007 crossover, HP reload.
- M.A.N.T.I.S. sequel/reload
- SG-1 Sam goes on the Abydos mission
- Batman Beyond/Knightfall
- Mulan Redux: Basically the same, except because Fa Zhou and Li (never got a name) were comrades, Mulan and Shang grew up knowing each other.
- Hogan's Heroes/Rat Patrol "Rat and Bear Raid"
- "Rock, Roll and Remember", semi-answer to dracohalo's 'Naruto Hates the Yondaime' challenge where he ends up traveling to Iwa because they share an enemy in Konoha. Deirdra as sensei, Kurotsuchi pairing, 'Arashikage' Naruto.
- SW AU "Grand Tradition
- Buffy AU, "Keys to the Kingdom" Buffy is given U.S. Government sanction and the remains of the Inititive for her use.
- Angel/Buffy AU, "Five Minutes"
- Buffy Reload, two versions;
"Buffy O'Conner" "Where I'm Needed" Maybe figure out some way to work them in together? Or I could just use them as two varients stories on a common theme.
- SM AU Usagi/Mamoru, Naru/Masato, "Titular Regius"
- Torchwood AU, Gwen doesn't leave with the rest and ends up disappearing with Jack after Abaddon, when they finally get back after 'The Year That Never Was', they're married.
- BB AU from "Hooked Up"
Terry and Max get together in "Hooked Up" and are partners in "Eggbaby"
- BB AU from "Eggbaby", Terry and Max, not a couple, are partnered up for the Eggbaby project
- Prequel to "Kat Would" based on Sue Thompson's song 'James (Hold The Ladder Steady)'
- SeaQuest 2032, Lucas/J.J. over Christmas
- Hetalia and the Holy Grail
- Torchwood and the Holy Grail
- Ranma/Iron Chef, Akane as the challenger, ingredient is piglet. Include a comment about the Iron Chef losing to a Chinese cuisine challenge in Battle Duck...
- Ghostbusters/Danny Phantom crossover/AU, 'Reunion' (In progress)
- DP AU, "Rock And Roll Heaven"
- DP "Fanning the Flames" AU, established Danny/Ember
- HP/Iron Chef 'Raised By'
- Riker/Ro TNG AU
- ST Voy AU where Chakotay refuses to send Tom out and goes himself, resulting in a reversal of their roles for the pilot episode.
- Bones/SMK cross-drabble
- Cliche fic; pre-series bar meeting; Torchwood; Gwack; no Rhys.
- DW "Journey's End" AU
- Heroes on Hot Wheels, "Valiant vs. Valiant" redux where the whole 'Team Tiger' set-up is more believable.

..."Gwack?" Seriously, "Gwack"? I say that I sound like a duck!
I'll just be over here shipping the Torchwood Orgy. (Ianto/Jack/Gwen/a suddenly bisexual!Rhys [It's Torchwood, frankly I'm surprised RTD hasn't already done that]) Or the DDD-flavored TW Orgy (Sulu/Ianto/Jack/Scotty/Ireland/Gwen/sb!Rhys).

With no tv and lineups sucking on basic channels anyway (Discovery and the like putting the good stuff on their specialist channels like Speed and Military), it's been a while since I've gotten to watch any Junkyard Wars... Finally managed to dredge some up on that mess called YouTube, as well as some original Scrapheap Challenge as well...
As I was saying, the presenter's name comes up on the bottom of the screen and I pause it, frowning, since it seems familiar from some place other than Scrapheap. So, what do I do? I look him up.
Yeah, here's your interesting casting; Robert Llewellyn, the British presenter for Scrapheap is also known for being a regular cast member of a cult British Sci-Fi comedy show... He played Kryten (and related characters) on Red Dwarf. Interesting...
