On her part, it is...
For him, it may take a while, if it happens at all.

...Willing semi-social interaction with a homosapien of the opposing gender...
As far as Tyrone is concerned, I'd call that love.

Define "Semi-social interaction." Because if it includes shuffling to a seat, half-asleep and crankier than usual, snatching black coffee off Alicia's tray and shoving money in her face without so much as a hello, then you'd be right.

I would, since it involves interaction with another human being not related to classes or fieldwork.

Then it's love. Naturally, Kirby will see it for what it is LONG before Tyrone does...

I can almost see Kirby and someone (Megan, Vic, Eric, someone...) having almost the exact same conversation we just had, y'know?

Probably Eric.

... The "OMG Aliens!" Trilogy: "It's The End of the World As We Know It," In which Tyrone aids in finding an ancient calendar which ends at a certain date that isn't too far off. News of the date spreads, and the natives chase our heroes out of the site. "Fire on High," in which news of The Date spreads across the world, causing some to believe that aliens will visit our world on that date. A small cult gains power (Spoof of Scientology and extremists in all religions. ) as the date nears, and brand Tyrone and Kirby heretics when they refuse to believe. "Brain Damage/Eclipse," in which The Date arrives, and our heroes must stop a riot from occurring when the aliens don't arrive (They actually do arrive, but only for their 5,000 year taco run. ).

5000 year taco run?
What scares me is that I could see it happening...

Yes. Every 5000 years, the aliens go to the planet with the best food and bring back enough for their entire colony.
Last time they came here, they helped to build the foundations for the Mayan, Aztec, Olmec and Inca empires.
Guess which calender Tyrone found?

Either that of the aliens or one of those tribes listing when the next food run would be...

About the Pan-Asian Syndicate:
Gary Indiana gains information about Tyrone's activities in Asia through agents of a Pan-Asian crime syndicate. The Syndicate rose to power in China during the last three decades of England's ownership of Hong Kong. It has since incorporated over 1000 gangs, mafia and criminal organizations, making it the largest in the world. Among those allied with the Syndicate are Japan's Tetsushishsi-gumi.
It's founder and current leader is Ng Zhou En, often called Ng Enzo. Enzo formed the Syndicate, originally, with the intention of freeing Hong Kong from it's British sovereignty. Overtime, he changed his goals to include the elimination of all non-essential Western influences on Asia. It is rumored that Gary helped Enzo spread his influence over the rest of China, Korea, The Philippines and Japan, and that is why he aids Gary in finding Mu.
In reality, Gary heard of Mu through Enzo, who wishes it for himself. Enzo believes that Mu is the key to truly becoming the ruler of all Asia. They made a deal: Gary gets the most valuable of the artifacts related to Mu, and the Syndicate gets Mu itself. Enzo and Gary planned on double crossing each other after eliminating all other rivals for Mu.
